Ep. 20 - Alexander (2004) with Christin Liberty and Ashley Rode

Blood, Lust, Empires, Eyeliner

Half audio commentary, half history gossip sesh and ALL PARTS PARTY, Beth is joined by guest host Ashley Rode (Friend of the Pod) and Christin Liberty (@neroslyre) to discuss Oliver Stone's 2004 flop Alexander. We discuss the historical accuracies and inaccuracies, make out scenes and everything in between, but we mostly focus on Colin Farrell's wig.

Plus: An accidental intermission thanks to a poorly timed Greek food delivery!

Liking the show? Why not leave us a review on the ol' iTunes! If one person actually does this they'll win the contest we set up like six months ago! THIS IS THE EASIEST GIVE AWAY EVER, Y'ALL!

Ep. 19 - Star Trek (The Original Series) with Kevin Church

G-G-G-GHOST DeLUISE!!!

Like the theme song says, "It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere!" so we're bundled up in a cozy Brooklyn apartment talking Star Trek the original series with comic book writer Kevin Church (@kevin_church, owner of the INSANELY EXHAUSTIVE fansite They Boldly Went). Kevin legitimately knows more about Star Trek than any single human I've ever met, and this episode could have gone on for several more hours if we'd let it. He also very politely puts up with all of Brandon's goofs about The Orville (Thursdays on Fox!) and tangents about that one episode of Stargate with Dom DeLuise.

Ep. 18 - Fanfiction with Frankie Starker

Watto x Padme

This week, #IntoItPodEast continues with a deep dive into the world of fan fiction with Frankie Starker (@thestarkest). We discuss the origins of the genre, AO3 and the trouble with fan cultures. Brandon also can't remember if the M*A*S*H/Power Rangers fanfiction he found when he was 12 was erotic or not...

Leave us a review and rating on iTunes with the most unspeakable slash pairing you can think of and you could win the copy of The Mountain Goats "Goths" that we've been trying to give away for like ten episodes now!

Ep. 17 - Eavesdropping with Lydia Hensler

Love In The Time of The Olive Garden

This week, comedian/actress/improviser Lydia Hensler (@lydiahensler) stops by our east coast studio* to talk eavesdropping, the hilarious party game that the whole family can enjoy at literally any time! We also dish on how great cocaine is, being young dumb dumbs in New York City, and try in vain to define shitposting.

Do you have any great eavesdropping stories? Let us know by leaving a review on iTunes with your nuttiest/creepiest/horniest overheards! *stupidly expensive hotel room

Ep. 16 - Edgar Wright with Mackenzie Mollo

"You know this is crazy, right?"

Our east coast residency begins with a deep dive into the work of comedy nerd favorite Edgar Wright with cross-stitch artist Mackenzie Mollo (@broidrage on the 'grams). We cover everything from Spaced to the surprisingly controversial Baby Driver while going mad with jet lag, and Mackenzie tells us her super not embarrassing story about meeting Edgar Wright in a town in New York we've never heard of before or since. It might very well be her Edgar Wright Brigadoon, aka Edgadoon. That's a bad joke, so I'm'a stop while I'm ahead.

Ep. 15 - Hey Arnold! with Jas Sams

Nicolas Cage and the Gold Fist Guy

We're back from our summer break with a VERY intense conversation about the Nicktoons classic Hey Arnold! with the hilarious and wonderful Jas Sams (@jas_sams). I honestly had no idea Hey Arnold! has this passionate a fanbase, and that the new Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie has such a crazy history. There's also a bunch of other bullshit, but we recorded this a few weeks ago and I can't remember any specifics. Assume Brandon makes some dumb jokes and Beth makes fun of him for it. Ya' know, the usual.

Ep. 14 – The Great British Bake Off with Mary Anna King

content warning: horny af

Things get delightfully and deceivingly filthy as Mary Anna King (author of Bastards) joins us to discuss The Great British Bake Off! Let's be honest, though: It's mostly just talk about how Paul Hollywood might be our biggest problematic fave so far. All the touching, and kneading, and....leaving loaves behind.....mmmmmmmmmm......

Ep. 13 – One Direction with Whitney Reynolds

[Feat. Greg "Fingers" Taylor]

This week, friend of the internet and co-host of I Haven't Seen That, Whitney Reynolds (@whitneyarner) joins us to discuss the sweet, sweet boys of One Direction. Turns out neither Brandon nor Beth know a single fucking thing about One Direction, and all of the things they THINK they know turn out to be wildly inaccurate. For example: Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey are NOT members of 1D. Who knew, right?

Well, Whitney knew, but other than HER, who knew, right?

SPECIAL – Wonder Woman Panel with Marc Andreyko, Susan Eisenberg, Drew Edward Johnson and Matt Haley

In honor of this week's release of the Wonder Woman film, we've got a special live bonus episode recorded at Geek Chic Promotions' Wonder Woman Fan Party at Hi De Ho Comics in Santa Monica. Joining us for a discussion of all things Diana Prince are Marc Andreyko (Wonder Woman 77), Susan Eisenberg (Voice of Wonder Woman), Drew Edward Johnson (Artist) and Matt Haley (Artist). We go deep on why so many people love the Amazonian so much, and how working "with" her has made them better people. The panel also turns very, very briefly into a backdoor pilot for a Manimal Podcast that will never, ever happen. If this is your first time listening, do us a solid and leave a review and rating on iTunes, and subscribe for more in-depth pop culture conversations. Have a problematic fave you'd like to discuss? E-mail [email protected] or @intoitpod with your suggestions!

Ep. 12 – MacGruber/Topics In Will Forte-lia with Sam Haft

I'mgonnashooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot

Pull up a hemorrhoid donut and settle in for a rambling talk on all things Will Forte, but specifically his cinematic masterpiece, MacGruber with comedian/musician Sam Haft (One half of Sam & Bill, @samandbillmusic). We marvel at the many wonders of The Potato Chip, tell Sam how much he's missing out having not seen clone high, and very, very briefly become The Coxcast. This episode is so much fun it'll leave you saying "I'mgonnashoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot."

Are you going to be on the west side of Los Angeles this Wednesday? Want to see us moderate a panel with SEVERAL PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH WONDER WOMAN about all things Wonder Woman? Then come on out to Hi-De-Ho Comics in Santa Monica for GeekChic's Wonder Woman fan party! Drinks! Panels! Brandon not knowing anything about Wonder Woman! What more could you want?
