Ep. 30 - Jam Bands with Jillian Dunn

Hey baby that's a nice lookin' Squirtle ya' go there

This week we're joined by the hilarious Jillian Dunn (comedian/actor/@hippiejill) to talk about jam bands. One of nature's most misunderstood genres, they're obsessed over by weird nerds like our host, much to the chagrin of the friends and family that have to hear about them, like our other host. We go waaaaay deeper than you'd ever want. I'm talking Raymond "Skeeto" Valdez, Ramble Dove, "trying to work out what sub-genre Gov't Mule is" deep. If you love improvisational music as much as we do then you're gonna love this. If you don't, well... I can't really blame you...

Ep. 29 - Democratic Socialism with Kelsey Goldberg

Our grocery store never has the kinky Oreos...

DSA must stand for "Dangol' Sweetheart Allofuslove" because this week Kelsey Goldberg (@kelseyfgold) is joining us to talk about democratic socialism, the hot new craze that's sweeping the nation! Why do all the kids these days love universal healthcare and financial equality so dang much? Give this episode a listen, you might just change your mind...and your heart...

But really though there's not a ton of goofing around in this episode, it's mostly just pretty legit information from one of the smartest, most intense political thinkers in Los Angeles that also played a shotgun wielding bear in a play we produced two years ago.

This Week's Intro:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's victory speech

What We're In To This Week:

Brandon - Podcast: The Ride

Kelsey - Hannah Gadsby's Nannette

Beth - Steven Universe's recent five night run

Ep. 28 - Post Beatles Solo Music with Amy Huckabay

Dunks Jamboree Zone

SIIIIIMPLY HAVING A WONDERFUL PODCAST TIIIIIME SIIIIIMPLY HAVING A WONDERFUL PODCAST TIIIIIME

This week actor/comedian Amy Huckabay (@amyisfancy) joins us for a real rotogravure for an episode as we go deeeeeeep in the weeds on the post Beatles work of the Fab Four*, which quickly devolves into who had the best lesbian haircut of the Traveling Wilburys**. Honestly this episode winds up being more about bad fashion choices and Ringo's increasingly bizarre 80s adventures than about the music. Plus: Brandon and Beth's marriage nearly ends over a SHOCKING revelation!!!

*Dire Straits **Bob Dylan. Fight me

Ep. 27 - James Bond with Walt Gray IV

Rebubula > Spine of a Dog > Timmy Tucker E: St. Augustine

We're back from our mid-winter hiatus with a deep dive into America's favorite funnyman, James Bond, with actor/mo-cap dude Walt Gray! If we're being honest this is a fine episode but I got to talk about moe. for like five minutes and force my audience to listen to a pretty sick Rebubula so that was pretty 1997 of me. On the non moe. front we have a heated discussion over who the best Bond is, what we love about the series and why Sheriff JW Pepper is the best character of all time don't @ me libs.

Ep. 26 - Tattoos with Sam Kusek

Manga and Bullshit, Maaaanga and Buuuuullshit

This week we're on the road with an episode recorded in The Big Muddy, Portland Oregon! Joining us is returning guest/very very nice boy Sam Kusek (@slamkusek) to discuss everyone's Mom's favorite topic: Tattoos! We go deep on the how and why of body art, and Brandon tells the story of the time he spite drafted an actual NFL player that made fun of him on the bus in 4th grade to his fantasy team only to bench him for the season. It's deeply, stupidly petty, but he got 2nd place in the league so it all works out? Who knows! Or cares!

Ep. 25 - Animaniacs with Libby Letlow

The sixth book and a Ben Folds Five album

This week Beth is out of town, so Brandon is rolling solo and it goes about as well as you'd expect*. Joining B-Fuuunk this week is actor/puppeteer/30s film star brought to life Libby Letlow (@libbygetslow) to discuss Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs. We got both zany to the max AND put bologna in our slacks as we talk about this gem of a 90s cartoon, how it affected Libby's sense of humor and perhaps the dirtiest joke in television history. *It goes sideways almost immediately

Ep. 24 - The Smiths with Jordan Kurtzman

Live from Chorlton-cum-Hardy

We're back from the holiday break and we are about to get SAD as Jordan Kurtzman (writer/comedian/Pin-Up Squirrel, @jordankurtzman) joins us to talk about those charming young lads The Smiths. We talk about how her music tastes formed, what she loves about the band's sound and lyrics, and delve deep into the complicated topic that is Morrissey himself. Jordan also straight up laughs at me for saying I saw Dweezil Zappa, and you know what? I'm not ashamed of it! I've, in fact, seen Dweezil Zappa at least six times AND I'D SEE HIM AGAIN GOT DANGGIT!! Have any problematic faves you'd like us to talk about? E-mail us at [email protected] or tweet @intoitpod and let us know! If you could leave us a rating and review on the ol' informationTunes that would be stellar, too, but do what you want, I'm not your Mom and this ain't "Lady Bird".....THOUGH WHAT IF IT WAS? I'd be all "YOU SUCK MOM!" and Mom'd be all "I'M TRYING MY BEST!" and Dave Matthews'd be all "CRAAAAAASHINTOMEEEEEEEEGURRRRL."

Ep. 23 - Ghostbusters with Drew Mollo

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Bust Ghosts

This week we're joined by superfan Drew Mollo to discuss Ghostbusters, a topic that has never caused any controversy or prompted any heated, wildly unnecessary arguments ever. Nope. Not a one. We talk about the movies, sure, but we go very deep on the fandom and what it means to be a Ghostbuster. Brandon also tees up what would have been a WORLD CLASS JOKE until he screws it up like a goon. This week's intro clip is Jon Glazer and H. Jon Benjamin as Soundtrackapella opening for Yo La Tengo in 2002. You can find the entire performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPzO3PvfO00&t=697s This week's outro music is Neil Cicierega's amazing remix, "Bustin'": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tdyU_gW6WE Like the show? Ep. 22 - Spelunky with Chris Plante

Suicide Squad: Middle Earth

On this week's show: The walls are shifting as we take a deep dive into the greatest game ever period don't @ us, Spelunky, with Chris Plante (@Plante, co-host of The Besties and executive editor at Polygon)! This episode was recorded before the surprise announcement of SPELUNKY 2, but we're just gonna pretend that discussing it on this show is what willed it into existence.

Ep. 21 - Pre-Disney Star Wars Games with Asher Vollmer

Prompto and his boyfriend Galactus

This week, game developer Asher Vollmer (Creator of Threes!, @ashervo) joins us to talk about pre-Disney Star Wars games. We also talk about running Mitch McConnell over with a bumper car, which of the boys from Final Fantasy XV are teens*, and Brandon's awkward story of getting third-base-blocked by a Nun at a screening of From Justin To Kelly.

If you like the show, please leave us a rating and review on the ol' iTunes, or send us topic ideas to @intoitpod or [email protected] *All of them
